As Saudi Government sealed the country's border to prevent Muslim faithfuls across the world from observing lesser hajj due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, an advice has gone to Muslims to convert the money intended for lesser hajj to feed the poor in their family and neighborhood.
An Ilorin based Islamic Cleric, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Akewukowo Alalubosa, made the call while speaking on a radio program monitored by newsmen in Ilorin.
Sheikh Alalubosa observed that the suffering of the people have been the complicated by the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic especially during the ongoing Ramadan fasting.
While commending individuals, groups and associations who have distributed palliatives to the people to cushion the effect of the lock down, Sheikh Alalubosa implored the intending pilgrimage to help the poor in the country.
He explained that the reward of doing good especially in this Holy Month of Ramadan cannot be compared to any other period outside Ramadan.
Sheikh Akewukowo Alalubosa, however, encouraged the generality of Muslims to always use all the lesson learned in the Holy Month to better the society and humanity in general.
