A former Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Prof. Shuaib Oba AbdulRaheem, OFR, has described the late Tafida of Ilorin, Dr. Amuda Aluko,as an outstanding professional,a rare political figure and exceptional community leader.
AbdulRaheem stated this in a condolence message on the death of the Chairman of the popular Geri-Alimi Hospital, Ilorin, and signed by a Member of Media Team Comrade Abdulwahab Alafara and distributed to newsmen in Ilorin on Friday.
Prof. Oba, who is also the Talba of Ilorin, said that Dr. Aluko was a man who not only meant well for his community but also used all the resources at his disposal to ensure the development of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria at large.
The ex-Unilorin VC recalled the glowing contributions of the late Dr. Aluko to the success of the All Progressives Congress(APC) at the last general elections in Kwara State, saying that without people like him the changes in political administration of the State would have remained an illusion.
AbdulRaheem also said that Dr. Aluko would go down in history as one of the very few indigenous professionals who, despite his national acceptability, believed in the greatness of Ilorin so well that he established his Hospital in the city at a time when doing so was not profitable.
While condoling the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji(Dr.)Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, Prof. AbdulRaheem also sympathised with the Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Bashiru Omolaja Bolarinwa, and the entire members of the party on the demise of the party elder.
Oba prayed Allah to grant the late Medical Doctor eternal felicity and all the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss.
