KWSG Warns Parents Against Covid-19 Pandemic

In its consistent effort to curtail the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the State, the Kwara State Government has reiterated that the closure of schools in the State was not to enable parents to take their children to coaching centres or other related gatherings.

The *State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Ahmed Fatimah Bisola* made this known while speaking with newsmen in her office earlier today.

Hajia Fatimah said parents should join hands with the State Government in the fight against the pandemic by ensuring that their children are kept away from any form of public gathering until the situation is arrested.

"If as Government, we deemed it fit to shut all schools for the safety of the children/students and the State as a whole, there should be no reason whatsoever for any parent to see this as opportunity to take their children to coaching centres or other related gatherings", she said.

She added that parents should rather take this as an opportunity to guide the students on their assignments and also take them through the topics in some of their textbooks.

While advising the parents, Hajia Bisola stated that parents should keep a close watch on their children in the time being and ensure that they avoid visiting public places like malls and playgrounds.
