Former APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal has denied receiving money from Kwara Governor, Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq during the last general election.
Hakeem Lawal in a Statement Signed by his Media aide Mr Issa Mutolib Ayobami Said he invested Financial and Social Capital to the Governor's Victory and has Never Asked for Anything in Return.
The statement reads :
Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the secretary of the APC - Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo, where he alleged that the Governor gave out money to all the gubernatorial aspirants in the Kwara state APC. This is far from the truth, Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal never collected a penny from the Governor!
It is of note that Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal contributed immensely to the success of the Party, our principal invested both financial and social capital to the success of the Party and the Governor at the polls, and has never asked for anything in return, a decision our principal - Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal has no cause to regret.
We beseech the Governor to caution overzealous aides and supporters against dragging the names of well meaning party men through the mud in this unnecessary political tussle. We also urge Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo to always avail himself with facts before making claims that are damaging to the image, character and personality of others. Alhaji Ishowo can ask about the financial contributions of our principal to the success of the Governor's election from the Governor himself.
Lastly, we demand an unreserved apology from Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo for attempting to rewrite the truth, and the painting of our principal in colours acutely opposite to what he represents.
Signed:
Issa Mutolib Ayobami
For: Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal
