The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has empowered over 121 Widows/Aged/Petty Traders across the five (5) Local Government Areas of Ilorin Emirate at her 5th Annual Lailatul-Qadr & Empowerment Programme held today at IEYDA National Secretariat, No. 46, Aishat Adepate's House, Edun Ilorin, Kwara State.
SHO PEN ONLINE learnt that the maximum of N40,000.00 and minimum of N10,000.00 Empowerment Funds were disbursed.
According to the National President of the Association, Alh. Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen and the National Publicity Secretary, Alh. Mohammed Uthman Jagunma, said the Annual Programme is aimed at assisting Widows/Aged/Petty Traders who must have eaten deep into their capital during the month of Ramadan, as a support towards reinvesting into their small scale businesses after Ramadan.
This gesture is in furtherance to the philanthropic disposition of IEYDA, and a back-up to several Palliatives and Ramadan Packages that was distributed to the vulnerable during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The Empowerment Fund is free and the beneficiaries will not pay a single kobo in return.
The cash presentation was made in batches in compliance with social distancing.
As part of the Programme, the National Missioner of IEYDA, Sheikh Muritala Ottan led a special Lailatul-Qadr Prayer pecialwhere special Prayers were said for HRH, Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Governor of Kwara State, Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Philanthropist who is the sole financier of the Empowerment Fund, all those that have contributed immensely towards IEYDA Programmes during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the contributors towards the ongoing Special Iftar & Sahur for the Muslim Prison Inmates at Oke-Kura for 30days of Ramadan, all the financiers of IEYDA Programmes from inception till date, all the Traditional Rulers in the State, noble sons and daughters of the Emirate and the entire residents of Ilorin Emirate Community.
Lastly, The beneficiaries appreciated IEYDA and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to provide in abundance to IEYDA, her supporters and financiers of all their Programmes.
