The Goverment of Kaduna State reported through the ministry of justice that the state has realised upto N1.9 million within just two days from violators of the lockdown order.

It would be Recalled that Kaduna state government had set up mobile courts on April 24 to summarily try any law breaker who is found wanting of going against the Lockdown policies.

According to the Ministry of Justice, about 605 offenders were convicted for either violation of movement restrictions or not putting on face mask in public, between Thursday and Friday last week, amogst which sum paid fines, while others were engaged in community services.

The ministry reported that the state generated upto N1,909,600 from fines paid by culprits.

In other to make the law more rigid, the Kaduna state goverment warns that violators may equally have their motorcycles, tricycles or vehicles impounded, even worse, they can be forfeited to the state government.

However, the state also pronounced that violation of stay at home order and not wearing face masks attract a fine of N5,000 each, not maintaining physical distancing attracts a fine of N7,000.
