The comforts in Ramadan - by Almam, Barr, Abdullahi Salaty

  THE COMFORTS IN RAMADAN.

Foreword
All the Prophets of Allah(Peace be upon them) preached the religion of peace and also showcase the spirit of peace in their conduct and guiding rules. I humbly refer you to Q57:25 and i quote

"Indeed We have sent our messengers with clear proofs and revealed with them the scripture and the Balance(Justice) that mankind may keep up Justice......".

With regards to the peaceful and comfort nature of Islam, Allah(swt) ordained that all the Muslims faithful across the World should commence fasting for the duration of 29/30days of the 365days which make a year depending on the lunar Month. We should bear it in mind that out of HIS Supremacy and Mercy, HE deducted only 30days for fasting from 365days as a relief, if HE actually wants to punish us, HE would have asked us to fast for the whole 365days, who would question HIS authority?

In a related development, out of 29/30days meant for fasting, Allah(swt) delimited the duration of fasting to 12hours per day not the whole 24hours which make a day. I humbly refer you to Q2:187,i quote

"Allah has ordained for you eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread(darkness of night), then complete your fast till the night fall.....".
The purport of the above verse is that, fasting is stipulated for 12hours per day and not 24hours.

Furthermore, part of reliefs pointing to the comfortability of Islam is that Allah(swt) exempted categories of persons from fasting such as the sick/aged persons and the traveller during the period of Ramadan and subsequently, ordered for makeup. I humbly refer you to Q2:185.
The purport of exemption is to comfort and safeguard them from hardship.

Finally, if the Supremebeing (swt) could be merciful and ease the burdens of mankind by giving us reliefs and Windows of opportunities. I therefore, call on individuals irrespective of racial background, ethnic origin and political affiliation to exhibit the spirit of appreciation to Allah Almighty (swt), obey HIS commands and ease the burdens of others. Safe your life and life of others, maintain orderliness put in place by the health authority. Wishing everyone rewardable successful Ramadan.

Thank you for your kind attention.
