Ex-Senate President of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the DG NILDS, Prof. Abubakar Olarewaju Sulaiman, among several other prominent Kwarans have extended felicitations to Prof. Agboola Ibrahim Gambari on his new appointment as the new cheif of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Saraki in a mesage posted on his verified Twitter page said Prof. Gambari is a decent man, a cerebral academic, disciplined diplomat and he is coming in with the necessary pedigree that will help him to do well on the job. 

''I have no doubt that he will succeed on this onerous assignment. I urge all Nigerians to give him all the support that he needs to perform in office.he said 

Similarly, The Executive Governor of Kwara state, Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq described the appointment as a befitting development that is rooted in dedication, loyalty, and history.

"The appointment is clearly fit for purpose and is deserving for our own professor Gambari whose records of service as a diplomat and global statesman is unblemished. On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Kwara state, I congratulate the wambai Ilorinfor his historic appointment" Abdulrazaq said in a statement by his spokeserson Rafiu Ajakaye.

“Professor Gambari has always been one of the ‘President’s men’ for decades and it is not surprising that he has been appointed at this crucial moment to serve as his chief of staff. We commend Mr. President for yet again honouring not just one of his renowned loyalists of all time but also the people of Kwara State who still relive his relationship with one of Nigeria’s finest military officers and son of Kwara late Major-General Tunde AbdulBaki Idiagbon.

“We pray the Almighty Allah to guide and protect Professor Gambari on this delicate national assignment and to not stop his blessings and protection for President Muhammadu Buhari whose administration continues to impact positively in the lives of the masses.”

Also, The Director General, NILDS, Prof. Abubakar Olarewaju Sulaimon, in a statement posted on his official twitter handle appreciated the President for recognizing Ambassador Gambari’s extensive experience and leadership demonstrated in his previous positions, including the Ministry of External Affairs, African Union and the United Nations among others.

Prof Sulyman said : "I have no doubt that his vast experience, pedigree, patriotism, demonstrated capacity at both national and global levels will make him both suitable and appropriate for the position of CoS to Mr. President ,” 

He added that he is convinced that President Buhari made the right and proper choice in appointing Ambassador Gambari, a seasoned administrator and bridge builder as his new COS in view of the sterling qualities, international exposure, experience and academic acumen of the respected diplomat. 

While wishing Gambari success in his new assignment, Professor Sulaiman further expressed confidence that the Kwara-born Prince will once again bring his vast administrative capacity to bare to the benefit and upliftment of the country at this time. 


Likewise, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof, Oba AbdulRaheem, OFR, described the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, as heartwarming. 

He noted that Prof. Gambari has come a long way and has all it takes to succeed in the task of serving as the engine-room of the present administration,saying that his experience as an academic, former Minister and the nation's Permanent Representative to the United has prepared him for the position.
