The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association has commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR in setting up the Ilorin Emirate Palliative Committee to cushion the effect of coronavirus pandemic in the state.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the five Coordinators of the IEYDA COVID-19 Committee in Ilorin-West, Ilorin-East, Ilorin-South, Moro and Asa local government areas representing Ilorin Emirate and issue by its chairman, Mallam Salman Abdulrasaq-Jimba in Ilorin.

The statement described the leadership style of the Emir of Ilorin for the bold steps taken during this trying period to distribute food items for poor of poorest both indigenes and non-indigenes living in Ilorin emirate council.

It also thanked the Ilorin Emirate Palliative Committee headed by the Dan Masani of Ilorin, Alhaji Yahaya Alapansanpa, the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Alhaji Uthman Baba-Otta and Technical Chairman Committee, Seriki Gobir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Gobir for supervised the distributions of the Palliatives to the targeted people.

The Coordinators under the umbrella of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association commended all donors for generously donating to the course of the projects and charged others to emulate them for the growth of the emirate and state in general.

The statement however enjoined the people of the state to use the opportunity of relaxing the lockdown to strictly adhere to the advised of government by wearing facemask and engaged in hands washing with soap and water regularly.
