A soft-spoken financial expert and son of Late Mohammed Alabi Lawal has urged the people to celebrate the birthday of the Mai Martaba and Emir of Ilorin - Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, by giving support to the palliative committee he constituted, this he said amongst other things in a statement he personally signed today's morning.
The statement reads: "Today is indeed a day worthy of celebration for all true sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, and by extension, well-meaning and assiduous Kwarans. It is with great delight that I celebrate my father and mentor - Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, at 80.
It continued: "Happy Birthday the Mai Martaba and Emir of Ilorin, a man worthy of great honour and deserving to be celebrated. Although, today's celebration will be a low key one, for no other reason than the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic, it however remains a special day for our revered father, and we can only make that possible by sending him our sincere wishes through words, calls, and most importantly, through prayers.
It added: "I am also using this medium to call on all true sons and daughters of Ilorin to celebrate his birthday by supporting the palliative committee which was constituted by our father, for it is our responsibility to look after one another and our people need us now, more than ever.
"Today, I have the honour to wish His Royal Highness more glorious years on earth, it's my sincere wish that it will be spent with profound joy and peace. I pray for Allah to continue showering his Rahma, Hikmah, and Afiyah on our father, and may he play his fatherly roles for long (Amin)", the statement concluded.
