In a bid to cushion the untoward effects of the COVID-19 which has confined Nigerians to staying at home. Sen. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe representing Kwara Central Senatorial District yesterday extended a hand of humanitarian gestures to the members of his constituency with the donation of relief items comprising of Rice, Semovita and Pasta.
The food items which were distributed across the Kwara Central senatorial district were additions to the preventive items comprising Hand Sanitizer; Nose masks; Gloves and cash supports which were distributed a few days ago.
While flagging off the distribution of the items at Okelele area of Ilorin East Local Government, the lawmaker through the director of projects in his constituency office, Engr. Jimoh Ajani explained that the intervention is a means to support his constituents ad well as compliment the efforts of the state government in easing the challenges being faced at this trying time. He added that the distribution is targeted at all residents of Kwara Central Senatorial District irrespective of their political and religious inclination.
Mr Azeez a beneficiary at Okelele distribution point expressed gratitude to the Senator for rising to the needs of his constituents at this emergency period, appealing to him to continue to implement people-oriented interventions.
Madam Afusat who is one of the beneficiaries at the Omoda distribution point expressed happiness over the gesture of the Senator which she described as "Well-Thought" and “Well-timed”
The distribution has covered 18 locations already within the constituency while the remaining areas would be covered in due course.
